Flood claims per 1,000 homes

What this number means, its source and the limits of using it.

Guide updated · Source dates are shown in the app

Say a place has many historical flood-insurance claims. This scales recorded claims to the housing stock. Claims reflect insurance coverage and reporting, not every flood that occurred.

Reading the number

Group: Risk. Units: claims/1k homes. Read the selected geography and compare the same measure at the same level.

Source and date

FEMA NFIP flood claims. Expected interval: about 30 days. This is a schedule, not proof that a refresh succeeded.

A guide update is not a data refresh. The source period and collection date, when available, are on the app’s data details. A missing date is unknown, never today. Check freshness.

Access and limits

Buyer and above by default. The app’s current lock is authoritative if settings change. Derived measures also need their input measures open. A missing number is not zero. What each plan shows.
